Winners of Camel Art Foundations’ exhibition return from Europe

MUMBAI — Camel Art Foundation, instituted by Camlin Limited holds art exhibitions and the winners are eligible for selection to “Euro Art Tour 2008”. The selected winners are sent on a trip to Europe to visit the world famous art galleries and museums to see the original works of art masters.

This year 10 artists were selected from the winners of four regional art exhibitions held in the year 2007 and one art teacher from art teachers’ art exhibition.

The fortunate winners during their stay of 10 days in Europe visited Paris, Rome and Florence. In Paris they visited museums such as Louvre, Orsay Museum, Picasso Museum, Pompidou Centre, which are known for rich collection of art; in Rome they visited Vatican museum, Sistine Chepal, and galleria nazional d’ Arte modern and in Florence visit was to bargello (famous for sculptures) and Uffizi. They were also taken for the city tour of Paris, Rome and Florence. The winners left on June 24, 2008 early morning for The Euro Art Tour and they came back on July 5 early morning.

Mr Dilip Dandekar, CMD, Camlin Limited said: “The main objective of the foundation is to promote art activities and create platform for budding artists and to provide an opportunity for professional artists to become popular and look beyond the Indian art scene”.
