Christie’s Autumn Contemporary Art Sale

On 30 November and 1 December 2008, the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre will play host to Christie’s Autumn sales of Asian Contemporary Art. The sale includes more than 420 works valued in excess of US$30 million from acknowledged contemporary masters from China, Japan, South Korea and India.

More than 30 works valued at US$14 million will be part of the Evening Sale 1 November while the Day Sale 1 December includes more than 386 works valued at US$15 million.

The contemporary artwork from China includes the collection of US filmmaker Oliver Stone and features artists such as Zhang Xiaogang, Liu Wei, Gu Wenda and Tang Zhigang. Other artists featured include Subodh Gupta (India), Kim Whanki (South Korea) and Hiroshi Sugimoto (Japan). Viewings and tours prior to the sale are scheduled in Beijing, Taipei, Taiyuan and Hong Kong
