Ina Puri celebrated her ambitious project a book on Indian Art through the lens of veteran photographer Nemai Ghosh at a classy evening at the ITC Hotel, The Grand Central on Saturday.

And a number of eminent people from the Indian art scene were present to laud the effort which takes the reader on an insider’s journey of how an artist works in his domain
and creates the masterpieces he does.

Nemaida, as he is fondly addressed, known for documenting Satyajt Ray’s works, said it was a treat for the creative streak in him to go into the private domains of the artists. "It was wonderful to go as far as Paris to meet Razasaab. It’s so fascinating to see the artists work," he said.

The evening was also graced by artists Sakti Burman, Jehangir Sabavala, S H Raza, Sudhir Patwardhan and Radhakrishnan. "We are all getting older by the day and it will serve aspiring art students to see the process unfold," said Sabavala who was agreed upon by Sakti. Raza spoke about their struggles and the time when Indian art was not appreciated. The hotel’s GM Anil Malik was also there as were Khushnuma Khambatta, who spent some time chatting with Radhakrishnan, Richard and Katherine Tan, Shanti Chopra, Sunil and Usha Gawde and rare visitor Manorama Sharma.
